A video that surfaced on social media on 31 August 2026 continues to circulate online. It shows three men unloading long rifle-like objects from the boot of a car outside or near the Tallaght Mosque (Muslim Association of Ireland) on Greenhills Road / Greenhills Business Centre, Tallaght, Dublin 24. The footage, filmed from a distance through a fence, has been shared with captions claiming “Muslims with guns at a mosque in Dublin.”

Claims circulating alongside the video assert that the objects may be airsoft rifles rather than real firearms. Tallaght has an established local airsoft community with nearby clubs and sites.

A member of the public who contacted Tallaght Garda Station directly reports that Gardaí have not yet investigated whether the Tallaght Mosque, or the individuals shown in the video, are in possession of real firearms or airsoft rifles. As a result, no official determination has been made on the nature of the objects depicted.

Garda at Tallaght Station have stated that local residents and anyone with relevant evidence should attend the station in person and provide it so that an investigation can take place. This includes the original video file, clearer footage if available, vehicle details, exact times, locations, or any other corroborating information.

No public Garda statements, arrests, seizures, or mainstream media reports confirming real firearms linked to this specific incident have been issued at the time of writing. The matter therefore remains unverified pending any formal examination of evidence submitted by the public.
